Have a one year old brittany, well behaved and loving dog that wants to smell everything outside. My question is, when on a leash this little hunter constantly pulls and smells and has no concept of heeling. What am I doing wrong? With all her pulling my wife refuses to her, how do I change this?

    Hello Jeremy,

Thanks for the comment. One of the things we use is a training collar. Similar to a pinch collar with a few variations. I use this on my dogs every day almost every time we do field or yard work. It puts an end to such pulling and bouncing. The best part is that is takes little or no effort from you the dog does most of the work. Let me know if you would like one. Or if you have any further questions?

We have two (2) AKC labs, a 2 year old female and a 5 month old male. We live in Grand Junction, CO and would like to train both dogs for bird hunting. I would like to participate in their training. Are there any trainers near us that you are aware of?

    Thanks,
    Sunni

    Hello Sunni,

The only one that I know of is Hideaway Kennels with Ben Garcia in Calhan CO. But he is further away from you than I am. What Kind of Training are you looking to do with the dogs?

    Thanks

    Jared
