GSP History

July 12th, 2011 2 comments

When starting to think about what breed of dog you would like or how to train a dog getting to know their history can be as important as anything else. I recently re-read a great article put together by Gary Hutchison of Westwind Kennels. Gary talks about the history of the German shorthaired, how the World Wars had an effect on the breed and how we came up with the German Shorhaired Pointer. He explains this so well there is no reason to do anything but send you to his site and have a look at it yourself. I believe you will find it very interesting!

GSP Puppies

Here are some up the new puppies we have at Best Gun Dogs! This is a litter that we have been waiting on for some years. These puppies are going to make great gun dogs. I have hunted behind and trained 3 generations of these bloodlines. If you are looking for a dog that can be a great family dog during the off season and perform well during the hunting season that’s exactly what these puppies will do. I still have an uncle of theirs in my kennel and he is probably my favorite dog. He still is hunting today at age 14!
